In 2016, the Head monk of the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, of Chiang Mai temple, was established Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Meditation Centre on island of Aegna Island, in Estonia.
The plan is to rebuild the whole house: on the ground (zero) floor there will be catering, laundry and heating system, storage room and other technical rooms. On the second floor is a meditation hall, office and living quarters for the teacher. There will be rooms for meditators on the third floor. In addition, there will be fourth, new rooftop floor for meditators' dwellings and a new roof. In total, there will be rooms for 40-50 meditators at Wat Doi Suthep Meditation Center.
The total cost of the reconstruction is estimated at EUR 750 000.
